Energy Trust has released its 2023 annual report that highlights benefits to customers and communities as well as results toward its 2020-2024 Strategic Plan and diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

The 2023 results go beyond energy savings and generation. While Energy Trust exceeded its energy goals, it also launched new programs and partnerships that support people and businesses as they navigate rising costs and the effects of climate change.

That’s the case with Community Partner Funding, which offers higher incentives through trusted community-based organizations that serve families with lower incomes, communities of color, rural and indigenous communities. Since 2019, partners have delivered more than $5 million in Energy Trust incentives to more than 2,500 Oregon families while also making their homes more comfortable and safer.

Whether it’s supporting small businesses with no-cost lighting upgrades, working with utilities on community-focused programs or supporting the next generation of clean energy professionals, Energy Trust’s annual report is full of stories that illustrate how its work helps strengthen communities and bring equitable benefits to Oregonians.

Since 2002, Energy Trust has helped 825,000 businesses, customers and communities reap the benefits of clean energy, which has saved them $7.2 billion on utility bills.

Together, those customers have saved and generated 1,120 average megawatts of electricity and saved 100 million annual therms of natural gas. Those investments add up to 42.9 million metric tons of carbon dioxide avoided, which keeps our air cleaner and supports the state’s climate goals.

In addition to this newly released report, Energy Trust provides a more detailed annual report to the Oregon Public Utility Commission on the organization’s program activities, energy savings, renewable energy generation and financials.

This year, Energy Trust is seeking feedback from stakeholders and the public on the contents of that report. Feedback can be provided via Energy Trust’s website through June 15.
