Alicia Moore becomes Energy Trust’s first director of diversity, equity and inclusion

Alicia Moore recently joined Energy Trust as its first director of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) services following a competitive national search.

Energy Trust began investing in DEI more than a decade ago with the realization that certain communities and customers were not seeing the full benefit of its investments on behalf of ratepayers. This includes communities of color, rural communities and customers with low and moderate incomes.

Energy Trust created its first DEI Plan in 2018, formed a Diversity Advisory Council made up of stakeholders representing priority customer groups in 2019, and began reporting on equity metric results to regulators in 2023.

“The creation of this director-level position represents an evolution in our DEI work,” said Michael Colgrove, Energy Trust executive director. “We’re lucky to have Alicia’s wealth of experience and leadership skills as we work to more fully integrate DEI into all aspects of our organization.”

As director of DEI services, Moore will manage the hiring of a new three-person team to oversee and support activities across the organization to provide more meaningful opportunities for historically underserved customers and communities to benefit from clean energy solutions.

The team will lead training and coaching services for Energy Trust staff and act as in-house consultants for how the organization can evolve to better serve more customers, including through program design.

Moore previously served as senior DEI program manager at Columbia Sportswear and as director of workplace diversity at Unitus Community Credit Union in Portland. She is a native of Wisconsin, where she earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University.

“I’m excited to get to know Energy Trust and help advance its DEI work. This is transformational work that requires collaboration at all levels, and I’m looking forward to working alongside other staff, the board, partners and stakeholders to achieve the organization’s vision of clean energy for everyone,” said Moore.
