In all regions of the state, Energy Trust helped more customers save money, make their homes more comfortable and keep their businesses running efficiently in 2014. We served customers at 22 percent more sites than in 2013, and program participation grew in each region of the state. In Central Oregon, we saved customers $1,723,000 at 3,950 sites:
- Worthy Brewing integrated process efficiency practices and a rooftop solar array at its recently constructed restaurant and brewhouse
- Bend resident Priscilla Martin purchased an EPS™ home with energy-efficient heating and cooling, lighting, windows, water heater and ventilation
In Southern Oregon, we saved customers $3,103,450 at 10,940 sites:
- Residents of Jade East Apartments in Grants Pass are now more comfortable year-round thanks to new ductless heat pumps
- The City of Coos Bay built a new 3,600-square-foot visitor information center with energy-efficient lighting, heating and cooling equipment and water heating
In Eastern Oregon, we saved customers $1,005,000 at 1,010 sites:
- The Tamástslikt Cultural Institute, a nonprofit interpretive center on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, installed a 50-kilowatt wind turbine expected to generate 20 percent of the building’s electricity needs
- In Weston, Smith Frozen Foods implemented simple behavioral changes and no- and low-cost operations and maintenance improvements through Energy Trust’s Strategic Energy Management initiative
On the North Coast, we saved customers $494,000 at 1,470 sites:
- Groth-Gates Heating and Sheet Metal, located in Lincoln City and Newport, became an Energy Trust trade ally contractor to help home and business owners reduce energy use
In the Willamette Valley, we saved customers $6,753,000 at 17,210 sites:
- The Edward C. Allworth Veterans’ Home in Lebanon was designed to improve resident health and comfort while saving energy through energy-efficient lighting, heating and cooling equipment and kitchen appliances
In the Portland Metro area and Hood River, we saved customers $20,064,130 at 50,330 sites:
- The City of Gresham Wastewater Treatment Plant achieved net-zero energy consumption after more than 10 years of energy-efficiency and renewable power investments
- Milwaukie homeowner Bruce Burney installed a tankless water heater, high-efficiency gas furnace and improved insulation, and topped it off with a solar electric system
