In November 2025, Energy Trust awarded its fifth round of Working Together Grants to 14 organizations. This is a competitive grant opportunity with funding up to $10,000 to support nonprofit organizations to reach and serve customers and communities with clean energy solutions.
Recognizing the value of leveraging community-based organizations’ expertise and connections, these grants complement Energy Trust’s program initiatives and expand participation among customers it has historically underserved. Energy Trust data reveal that people of color, people with low incomes and people in rural areas have participated in programs to a lesser degree and received fewer benefits than other customers—despite helping fund services provided by Energy Trust through charges on their utility bills.
In this funding round, half of awardees are based outside of the Portland Metro area; all awardees are serving customers with low incomes, nearly 79% are serving customers of color and 64% are serving rural customers.
Awardees are pursuing a variety of activities with their funding, which will engage customers and communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington:
- Business Impact NW is adding an energy savings for small businesses module into its technical assistance programs.
- Community Energy Project is improving energy efficiency access for underserved communities.
- Division Midway Alliance is hosting community workshops tailored to education needs around energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- Electrify Oregon is improving access to Energy Trust programs and services.
- Hacienda CDC is developing workshops to support multifamily residents.
- Metropolitan Family Service is increasing community engagement and energy awareness.
- The Environmental Center is providing culturally relevant resources on saving energy in Spanish.
- Trash For Peace is increasing awareness of Energy Trust’s offers through culturally responsive outreach, bilingual workshops and community organizing.
- APIC Collective is empowering youth to be leaders in clean energy awareness.
- Community Services Network is providing culturally accessible outreach and engagement during its Winter Preparedness Fair.
- Alternative Youth Activities is hosting and marketing two public events to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- Warm Springs Community Action Team is providing workshops to help new and aspiring homeowners learn about the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- Health Creation Network is training rural health center staff to support outreach efforts to rural Oregonians.
- Grants Pass Energy Action Team is enhancing its presence at local events to expand outreach and connect residents with energy efficiency resources.
