Energy Trust releases draft 2025-2030 Strategic Plan for public comment

Energy Trust’s draft 2025-2030 Strategic Plan is now available for public comment through September 20.

The plan reflects needs and opportunities Energy Trust is preparing for in the coming years and its role in helping the state of Oregon accomplish its clean energy goals. It was developed by Energy Trust’s Board of Directors through a public process that kicked off in January.

It includes five areas where the organization will focus its efforts to be most impactful:

  • Maximizing clean energy acquisition to help ensure future costs are as low as possible for customers and utilities.
  • Reducing the cost of decarbonization through energy efficiency and renewable energy resources, making the transition less costly and less risky for utilities and customers.
  • Creating greater impact for priority customers by increasing participation and results for groups Energy Trust has historically underserved.
  • Motivating the next level of customer participation with strategies that appeal to customers who have not yet acted and reengaging those who have previously participated in our programs.
  • Supporting community resilience by working with local and state government agencies, utilities, tribal governments and others to incorporate clean energy solutions into community resilience efforts.

For each focus area, the plan identifies desired outcomes, metrics for measuring our progress, and a sampling of strategies we will pursue. Energy Trust is seeking feedback on all of these elements. Additionally, for each metric, Energy Trust is seeking input on what targets it should work to reach by 2030. Your comments will guide the board’s revisions to the plan before it is considered for adoption in December.
