Annual report highlights clean energy results, benefits in 2024
Amid rising costs, increased energy demand and climate change impacts, Energy Trust remains committed to creating a future of clean, affordable energy for everyone.
Energy Trust’s 2024 annual report highlights benefits to customers and communities as well as achievements from the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan and diversity, equity and inclusion activities.
In 2024, Energy Trust met or exceeded all its energy savings and generation goals. Additionally, through collaborations with community-based partners, more priority customers were able to benefit from Energy Trust programs and services. One example is the no-cost ductless heat pump pilot, where a growing network of community-based organizations helped deliver ductless heat pumps to Oregon families experiencing energy burden.
Energy Trust also added more than 100 contractors to its Trade Ally Network, expanding customers’ access to diverse local contractors across Oregon and helping them complete more clean energy projects. New resources were added for contractors, including a program that matches diverse contractors with peer mentors to help them grow their energy efficiency businesses.?
With the support of community partners, trade allies and stakeholders, Energy Trust helped customers manage their energy use and lower their bills, saving more than $1 billion on their utility bills over the lifetime of the projects installed in 2024. These investments not only keep utility rates as low as possible for all customers now, but they will also keep rates lower than they otherwise would be far into the future.
Whether it’s helping affordable housing developers integrate energy-saving features into multifamily buildings, connecting Tribal communities with clean energy solutions that support their goals, or empowering renters to lower utility costs with free energy education workshops, Energy Trust’s annual report is full of stories that illustrate how its work helps strengthen communities and bring equitable benefits to Oregonians.
Since 2002, Energy Trust has helped 842,000 businesses, customers and communities reap the benefits of clean power, saving them $8.5 billion on utility bills.
Together, those customers have saved and generated 1,183 average megawatts of electricity and saved 108 million annual therms of natural gas. Those investments add up to 46.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent avoided, which keeps our air cleaner and supports climate goals.
In addition to this newly released report, Energy Trust provides a more detailed annual report to the Oregon Public Utility Commission on the organization’s program activities, energy savings, renewable energy generation and financials.
