Workshops provide early feedback on Energy Trust’s Multiyear Plan

In planning for the next five years, Energy Trust should prioritize offers that are relevant and accessible to more customers and strategies that make energy more affordable and communities more resilient.

Those were some of the themes that emerged from a series of virtual workshops Energy Trust hosted in February and March as it works to develop a five-year plan to replace its current annual budget.

View recordings, summaries and slides from each workshop.

Organized by major customer groups, the workshops were designed to maximize feedback opportunities, with full group Q&As, polls, small group discussions and follow-up surveys.

Participants included representatives from state agencies, municipalities and community-based organizations, along with Energy Trust’s partner utilities, board, councils and customers.

This was also an opportunity to share details about multiyear planning and benefits of that transition.  Planning for multiple years will provide more flexibility to respond to an ever-changing market and help Energy Trust think bigger and longer term to achieve energy goals and maximize customer benefits.

The multiyear plan will be based on Energy Trust’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan which sets top priorities and desired outcomes for the coming years. The multiyear plan will say how Energy Trust will achieve what’s in the strategic plan – what resources will be needed, where it will invest staff time, and what programs it will offer customers.

Feedback from the workshops will inform the draft 2026-2030 Multiyear Plan, which will be released for a six-week public comment period on August 4.

The draft will be updated based on public comments, and a final proposed 2026-2030 Multiyear Plan will be released in the fall. It will then go to Energy Trust’s board of directors and, if approved, would go into effect January 1, 2026.
