Our draft 2020 budget is available for public comment in October: learn how to participate

""

Energy Trust will invite public feedback on our draft 2020 budget and action plan beginning on October 9. Public comments are welcome from October 9-30, 2019.

Our budget and action plans provide details about our annual activities and approaches to help customers take advantage of the lowest cost and cleanest energy available—energy efficiency and renewable power. These budget documents explain where we plan to focus our investments of utility customer funds to create maximum value for renters, homeowners, businesses of all sizes, farms, ranches and schools across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Projects and actions resulting from our plans will save money on participant utility bills, reduce carbon emissions and improve local economies.

Want to get involved?

There are two main ways you can get involved and provide input on our draft 2020 budget and action plans:

  1. Check out our budget and action plan web page now to get more information about our plans this year. Then, check back on October 9 to review the draft budget and submit your feedback.
  2. Attend our interactive budget workshop on October 16. After a brief overview presentation about the budget and action plan by Executive Director Michael Colgrove, attendees and our board members can speak directly with staff and learn about each area of the organization’s proposed activities for next year. This workshop is open to the public.

The budget and action plans are developed collaboratively with our utility partners Portland General ElectricPacific PowerNW NaturalCascade Natural Gas and Avista. We also value participation in annual planning from stakeholders, customers and the public. Feedback on the 2020 budget will guide our program and outreach strategies that help Oregon and Southwest Washington utility customers save energy and generate renewable power.
