Energy Trust’s draft 2022 budget is available for public comment now through October 20.
Read all about the draft budget here, including a budget overview, supporting memos, action plans and financial statements.
The draft budget and action plans provide details on how Energy Trust will help utility customers and communities in Oregon and Southwest Washington save energy and generate renewable power in 2022. The budget was built around four goals:
- Achieve savings and renewable generation goals while addressing the needs of customers who experience significant energy burden or are impacted by disaster events
- Expand support for community-led approaches to increase access to clean energy
- Create development capabilities that will allow us to increase funding to deliver more savings and generation and expand our ability to meet changing customer and utility system needs
- Implement new work strategies to adapt and thrive in our changing environment while supporting staff and managing operating costs
With these goals as a guide, Energy Trust has proposed a budget that would invest $213 million to save 50.1 average megawatts of electricity, 6.8 million annual therms of natural gas and generate 4 average megawatts of renewable power. It would do so by distributing nearly $117 million in cash incentives to customers for projects that save and generate energy, avoiding 4.5 million tons of carbon dioxide.
Public comments on the draft budget are due to Energy Trust by 5 p.m. PST on October 20. Comments may be emailed to info@energytrust.org with the subject line “Budget Comment” or mailed to Energy Trust of Oregon, 421 SW Oak St., Suite 300, Portland, Oregon 97204.
