At Medford’s Kennedy Elementary School, sixth-grader Isobela Pickard started her own energy-efficiency patrol to remind teachers and students to turn off unnecessary lights and shut down equipment like computers that aren’t in use.
Isobela’s “turn it off” stickers, left during her lunch-hour tours, have been effective reminders. “It’s hard to break habits. If we keep reminding people how to use less energy, they’ll catch on,” said Pickard.
