A year-long process to develop Energy Trust’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan will kick off at the Jan. 24 meeting of Energy Trust’s board of directors. This is the first of several board meetings between now and June focused on learning and discussions to create key building blocks of the plan.

All board meetings are open to the public. Materials and minutes are available on Energy Trust’s website.

In developing the plan, the board wants to hear from stakeholders and advisors, including utilities, advisory council members, the Oregon Public Utility Commission, and community and customer representatives.

Energy Trust staff is gathering input from a wide range of individuals and organizations on trends, needs, challenges and opportunities to inform board conversations. Summaries of interviews, surveys and other engagements will be presented to the board in January and February.

The board will also draw insight from six briefing papers on topics ranging from workforce development to decarbonization to utility coordination efforts – all things that could influence or otherwise affect Energy Trust’s ability to achieve its vision of clean, affordable energy for everyone.

A draft of the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan will be available in late summer, and there will be opportunities for stakeholders and the public to learn about it and submit comments on the draft plan for consideration.

The final 2025-2030 Strategic Plan will be presented to the board for potential approval at a public board meeting in December.

Energy Trust will continue to be guided by its 2020-2024 Strategic Plan through the end of the year. That plan outlines five focus areas and key strategies that guide programs and outreach efforts.
