In 2026, Energy Trust of Oregon cash incentives continue to support industrial and agriculture businesses looking to lower energy costs. Expanded and new incentives help reduce upfront costs and improve payback for many common equipment upgrades.
Equipment incentives available in 2026:
- Steam traps
Energy Trust offers up to $550 per steam trap for industry and agriculture businesses, when you repair or replace old or failed traps. In many cases, this incentive can cover most of the project costs. Fixing steam traps is one of the fastest ways to reduce wasted energy and improve system performance. - New cash incentive for drip irrigation.
Growers who convert from hand line, solid set or traveler systems to drip irrigation can receive $500 per acre. Drip irrigation can lower pumping energy while improving water control in the field. - Increased rebates for variable frequency drives (VFDs) on irrigation pumps.
Incentives now support pump motors from 2 to 125 horsepower. Incentive amounts vary depending on whether the drive is installed on a new pump or added to an existing one, so it is important to confirm how a project is categorized before moving forward. - New retrofit option for industrial pump VFDs.
Incentives are available for variable frequency drives installed on industrial pump systems. A new incentive option is now available for retrofit installations, supporting existing pumps up to 100 horsepower. Incentives are also available for variable frequency drives installed on new industrial pumps up to 22.5 horsepower. - Continued cash incentives for irrigation equipment.
Cash incentives remain available for sprinklers, nozzles and gaskets, as well as pivot sprinkler upgrades such as LESA, LEPA and MDPI packages. - Updated cash incentives for greenhouse and nursery
Energy Trust now offers a new $0.50 per square foot incentive for double?wall polycarbonate greenhouse covers, along with incentives for infrared poly, thermal curtains, underbench heating and condensing unit heaters. New options for electric?only heated greenhouses are also available in 2026. - Lighting incentives continue in 2026. Lighting upgrades are often one of the simplest ways to improve safety, productivity and energy performance at your facility. The industrial lighting program launched in September 2025 remains in place, with no changes for 2026.
- And more energy saving opportunities.
Custom energy-efficiency projects
Energy Trust offers incentives based on estimated energy savings, along with technical support to help move projects forward. Energy Trust can help identify energy saving opportunities, review project plans and confirm incentive eligibility before work begins.
Gas savings may qualify for incentives of $5 per therm saved, and electric savings may qualify for incentives of $0.45 per kilowatt hour saved. Incentives may cover up to 90% of eligible project costs.
Operations & Maintenance—improvements
Operations & Maintenance improvements focus on how equipment and systems are run day to day. Energy Trust works with customers to identify operational changes that reduce energy waste and improve performance. Incentives are based on verified energy savings, at $0.05 per annual kilowatt hour saved or $0.50 per annual therm saved, with technical assistance available throughout the process.
Strategic Energy Management
Strategic energy management helps facilities take a long term approach to energy use. Through training, coaching and ongoing support, Energy Trust works with customers to build internal energy management practices, track energy use over time and identify new savings opportunities. Incentives are based on achieved energy savings, with additional milestone incentives available as progress is made. Incentives start at 0.05/kwh and 0.50/therm and can increase to as high as 0.10/kwh or $1.00/therm as your facility realizes deeper savings.
The bottom line
If your operation uses energy, 2026 incentives can help lower project costs and shorten payback. A conversation with Energy Trust can help identify the best opportunities before work begins.
